As a Calgary photographer, I understand that outdoor sessions in the winter can be difficult. That does’tmean we can’t have an amazing session that captures your children and your family in an genuine and honest way. In a way that you will want to remember your family for lifetimes. I have had the wonderful opportunity to photograph these kids several times! Sometimes we meet in their home and sometimes we meet outdoors. This last session was in January and it was a cold snowy day. That doesn’t mean that we didn’t have a wonderful time or get some amazing images. Images on your home are some of the most fun and real that we can get. Children feel so comfortable at home. They have no problem being themselves. The ups and the downs, they hide nothing. I love it. We also get to do some super fun things like jumping on the furniture. Things that never happen when there is no photographer around right? I love seeing the craziness that happens at home. I understand that it can be a little scary having a photographer in your home. We think of everything. Is the house clean enough? Will my pets get in the way? Will my kids be too distracted? I am here to tell you not to worry about any of that. The house is always clean enough anything in the way we just move and dust does’t even show up in photos! I love pets, and when we are at home it is so easy to incorporate pets into our session – it is their home too. As for the kids being distracted, this is something I love about photographing families in their own home. Kids get to show me the things they love about where they live and I get to capture that. How awesome is that?

Now back to these kiddos! We had a wonderful time in their home and I forgot to mention one thing. How easy outfit changes are. This three year old wanted to have his photos in his pyjamas and it was so easy to oblige as they were in the next room! What a great idea.
