As a Calgary Photographer in the summer I am blessed with amazing light almost every night. Sure we ma get a few storms, but after they pass there is a gorgeous golden glow that appears. (Even if they haven’t passed storms are so beautiful in their own right) Once in a while I can’ help but drake my kids out to this amazing light to make some photos with them. This is key. Once I started making them an active participant in photo sessions they get engaged and we have such an amazing time. This is how I approach my client sessions as well. I love when I can take kids aside and ask them what they want to do in their photos. This is a great way to discover what they really love and how they love to express them selves.

And now on to my littlest. My fourth child. He is off to kindergarten this fall and I can’t believe how big he is getting. Being the fourth child can be difficult at times. You love and look up to your big brothers and sister so much but sometimes that desire to be with them can not come across how you want. Sometimes you don’t understand their games or how to fit in. Sometimes this is frustrating. But Being number four means that you are so smart and love to do things that big kids do. You can ski, ride a bike, read and understand the rules of the playground with ease. You like to make people laugh and know how to speak up and be persistent to get what you want. This will take you far in life.
