Being a children’s photographer in Calgary can often mean that my own children go days sometimes weeks without having their photo taken. Yikes! This is not their fault. They have all grown out of their dislike of having me in their face with a camera. I no longer get turned heads or hands in my lens. They are all very willing subjects. I think that is because over the last couple of years I have worked very hard at making sure that our sessions are fun and kid friendly. This has made all the difference. There is no more frustration on my part and there is excitement on their part because they know that when we head out for pictures, everyone is going to have a great time.

I can’t wait to share photos of all of them with you but I am going to start with my one and only girl. She turns 9 next week. This brings up mixed feeling for me. I am so sad to have her grow up so fast. I can’t believe it has almost been 9 years since she entered our lives. but more than sad, I am excited to watch her grow into an amazing young lady. I love that she is all girl, pink tule and sequins all the way. I also love that she is not afraid to get her hands dirty, she could spend the entire day outside playing in the dirt finding as many bugs and worms possible. She is the first one to try something new and can find the positive in any situation. She is so strong and smart and is never afraid to ask for what she wants. She has big dreams and knows exactly how to work for what she wants. I am so excited to see where the next few years will take her.
