Oh how I love sleepy squishy newborn babies. I love everything about them, and now that I have added videos to my client work, I am able to show everything I love about newborn babies in a new way. I can’t wait to share the video with you, but for now you get just one image. I chose this photograph because it shows so many of the wonderful newborn traits that I love to photograph for families. Everything from their squishy cheeks, how they love to be swaddled, how they smile when they sleep. The softness of their baby blankets, their chapped lips from breast feeding, how fuzzy their skin was and their velvety newborn hair. I was so thrilled to see this little one in her home so shortly after her birth to be able to capture all of these amazing newborn qualities and more for her and her family. As I go through their images I am reminded of how short the newborn stage of life truly is. Before you know it you tiny newborn is a baby and all of that newness has moved on to baby things. This newborn stage of life is only a few weeks at best, which is why I truly love photographing these new little people and sharing in the newborn experience with these amazing families.
