Over the last 10 days, my husband and I took a little vacation. We left the kids with their grandparents and we hopped on a plane that took us over the Atlantic first to London, England then on to the beautiful country of Malta. I had never been to either place before and they were both so amazing. my husband and I are so fortunate that we get the opportunity to get away from it all and re connect a couple of times a year. The kids love it. It means that they get some serious time with both sets of grandparents. They can’t wait for us to leave and although they miss us they still want more time with their grandparents when we return. We are also so grateful that we have people we know and trust who are willing to take on all four of our kids for 10 days at a time. It was also a great opportunity to take a break from child and family photography, which I love, and try something new.

On to our holiday. Our first stop was London. Having never been, we kept to some popular tourist spots. London in the summer is crazy busy, everywhere you turn there are throngs of people. There is an amazing energy in this city. It was so great. We saw so much in the two days we were there and topped it all off with a show. 

Then it was on to our main destination, The tiny island country of Malta. It is a hot, humid, beautiful nation in the middle of the Mediterranean. Even though it was so tiny, this country was very much its own. With only 400,000 inhabitants they work very hard at keeping their culture and language strong. The people were amazing and every where you turned there was something unique and gorgeous. From natural wonders to the oldest manmade structure found on the planet, to beautiful architecture and marinas Malta had it all.
