Wow! I can’t believe another week has gone by so quickly. I have spent this last week photographing my kids in places and situations that are real and true to them. A reminder of how much we enjoy being together as a family. There is no styling, there is no outfit choices, there is only happy (mostly) awesome kids. These images have been so much fun for me. I never ask my kids to change their clothes or their hair or even change their expression. They are not asked to smile for the pictures and I think the results from all this is images that capture exactly what I want to remember, what I want to share with future generations. This is why I Love child and family photography. I love capturing true emotion and how awesome kids can be, no prompting or posing. As we wrapped up the 30×30 Nature Challenge with the David Suzuki foundation, we were outside more than ever before. The kids are so excited to keep the challenge going and to get outside every day. My kids are actually thrilled that I am taking so many photos of them, they ask every day for their photos and are so excited when I ask them if they want their photo taken for that day. They love seeing the end result and are so happing I am sharing them. (That being said, I took a couple of images that I love, but my daughter asked me not to share and I of course respected her request) The summer I think is the perfect time to start a habit of getting outside every day, I am really hoping that by the time the cold weather and snow come around we will be so used to going outside every day that it will be no problem. Another upside is that my kids have been sleeping so well! There is nothing like fresh air to get them to drift off to dreamland in a hurry.
