I got to re-visit this beautiful little girl when I arrived at her home to photograph her family expecting her little brother. Her mom’s maternity session was beautiful and I will share the full thing with you next week. But for now I am just sharing images of big sister. I have photographer her and her wonderful family at least four times in the past, so visiting them was like visiting old friends. Our session was about enjoying them as a growing family and catching up on the changes that have occurred over the past year. Big sister is now three and full of personality. She was sweet, kind, smart, funny, respectful, the list goes on and on.  Maternity sessions are the perfect time to get updated images of older siblings. They are all excited and the new arrival has not upset their routine yet so they are a little more willing to participate. It typically take a few moments out of each maternity session to pull the siblings aside and make them feel special. I really like including them in the session as they are often also excited about their new little brother or sister. This way we can focus the newborn session on the newest arrival and images of the siblings and family together….Back to this little star. We went into her room to get some of my favourite images. Children love to show me their room. They are so proud of their own space and can’t wait to share it with me. The are so comfortable in their own space, which makes things much easier on them when it is their turn for pictures. Photographing joy, expression, movement and expression are some of the greatest things about capturing children. They are so honest and don’t hold anything back. They are not afraid to show their feelings, happy or sad or in-between, we see it all. I love that!
