“Makeup Tips for the Busy Woman” by Michelle Shampaign

Origins Studio would like to welcome our guest writer this month, Michelle Shampaign from Shampaign Taste Makeup Artistry.

Michelle would like to share with all of  you how truly easy it can be to use makeup in a 10 minute daily routine that will  enhance our natural beauty.   We know a lot of women out there will appreciate these tidbits!

Makeup Tips for the Busy Woman

One of the things I hear from a lot from women is that they don’t have time to worry about makeup.  Usually it is just slapping on a lip gloss and a little mascara and running out the door.

Every woman has some feature that they like about themselves.  It could be your lips, eyes, or cheek bones.  Why not enhance the natural beauty you have and do it under 10 minutes in your morning routine.

With Calgary being so dry, moisturizing is of utmost importance.  But moisturizing is usually just one small component of what our skin needs. Every lady should have Beauty Balm in their makeup bag.  This is a multi-functional product. In addition to light coverage, it function as a primer, an anti-aging serum, an anti-inflammatory, a sunscreen from UVA and UVB rays, tone-evener for redness, dark spots and blemished and moisturizer all-in-one. Best of all, over time, these multi-taskers promise to rejuvenate skin and brighten complexions. Just blend it into your skin using your fingers like you would any moisturizing cream.

Next add your mascara to play up the eyes.  I always recommend 2 to 3 coasts.  If you can, add an eyeliner super quick to your upper lash line.  This is called tight lining.   This will make your upper lashes look nice and thick giving lots of volume.

Quickly add a little blush to the apples of your cheeks.  You always need to add a little color to brighten up the face.  Since you used the beauty balm you need the blush to add some dimension.  This will help you look awake and fresh faced even though you may be feeling tired.

Lastly use your favorite lip-gloss or tinted lip balm.  My personal favorite is a brand called “Fresh” for lip balm and “Bite” for lipsticks and gloss.

I promise you this will take under 10 minutes.  I know us women are incredibly busy but you deserve a little pampering and to feel good about yourself.  Makeup is all about enhancing your natural beauty.

Get to know  Michelle Shampaign

I have been a makeup junkie from the very day I could hold a lipstick.  Makeup has always been a passion of mine. After dealing with cancer at the age of 31, I finally realized the makeup/beauty industry is where I need to be. I have been in the industry for the past two years building my own business Shampaign Taste Makeup Artistry and working at Sephora Part Time. Why? Because I get to play with makeup all day and help ladies with beauty needs and concerns and those suffering with cancer to make them feel beautiful as they go through treatment.
